Do You Charge For Travel?

Not for local weddings. We consider anything in Northern, VA, DC, and most of MD a local wedding, and there are no travel charges for weddings in the local area.

Is It Just You Covering My Wedding Or Do You Bring Other People With You?

We normally bring a second photographer, and in fact we recommend it for most weddings. It really depends on the size of the wedding, the number of venues, and of course, what the client wants. We have a great team of extremely talented associate photographers, so when one of our second shooters is working with us, you are getting coverage from two professionals – not just a lead photographer and an apprentice who is learning on your job!

Do You Offer Destination Wedding Coverage? How Does It Work?

Yes we do! We love destinations, and have photographed weddings in Europe, Mexico, and all over the U.S. It's a great way to go, as the photographers at most resorts are often unskilled. Some resorts inform wedding clients that they are required to use the “resort photographer” but there are usually ways to get around this. Generally, the client covers the cost of travel to and from the Washington area (preferably BWI Airport) to the wedding location, the cost of accommodations for at least one night prior to the wedding through the night following the wedding, and meals. The wedding package is in addition to the travel costs, but it is usually much less expensive than you may anticipate. Destination coverage is something we quote on a custom basis.

Do We Get The High Resolution Files? Are We Allowed To Print Our Own Photos?

All of our packages include a complete set of edited, ready to print, high resolution files with printing rights. The photo sets generally include between 600 and 800 images.

Do You Offer Engagement Sessions?

We do, and most of our packages include them. We offer E-Sessions on a stand-alone basis as well. We highly recommend that our clients allow us shoot their engagement photos, as it gives us a chance build a level of trust before the wedding day. Our sessions are fun and generally based around a place or activity that is has special significance to you.

How Does Payment Work?

We require a retainer of $1,000 to hold your date. A second retainer of $1,000 will be required on a pre-determined date, and the final balance of your contract will be due one week prior to your wedding.

What Style Of Photography Do You Offer?

Our style is probably best described as editorial, which by definition includes capturing photos that express the nature and emotion of your day. We always include the iconic portraits that are taken at every wedding and we feel that these become more important down the road. However, our goal is to capture your day in such a way that actually allows you to re-visit the emotions of your wedding day when you view your photos years down the road. We always try to capture a magazine cover worthy set of images at every wedding. Our wedding photography has been featured in nearly every major wedding publication and blog in the country.

How Long Will I Have To Wait To Get My Photos?

We will have a gallery online for you, complete with your entire set of photos, generally within one month of your wedding day. You will receive a flash drive containing the same set of high-resolution files approximately ten days after your gallery becomes live. We often post a sneak peek or two for you on Facebook and Instagram within a few days of your wedding as well. If you have a wedding hashtag, share it with us!

How Does Your Album Design Process Work?

We offer two options for album design for a couple of reasons. For option number one, clients choose a pre-determined number of photos for their album based on the album size. Next, we apply fine editing on the photos and pass them along to my designer who will then create a draft design and post it online. You will have the ability to review the design and suggest any changes you would like to make. The designer will then make the changes and post a new draft for your review. You are free to make up to four sets of changes at no charge. Once the design is approved we begin printing and binding. For option two, we will select your photos for you and create your album. Many of our clients select option two because the selection process can be overwhelming and many simply do not want to think about their wedding after it’s over. They would rather enjoy married life and allow us to create a beautiful album for them!

Do You Offer Videography?

No, we do not. Photography and videography are very different artistic disciplines. Trying to mix the two results in, in our opinion, a compromised set of images and video footage. We feel that focusing 100% of our attention on the photography is most important. We have relationships with some of the best videographers in the business and will be happy to refer them.

Do You Offer A Photo Booth?

Yes, we have a photo booth that we offer to our wedding clients at a discounted rate, but it is also available as a stand-alone rental. The booth is a very modern automated open booth, which can accommodate groups of up ten people in a shot.

How Far In Advance Do We Need To Book You As Our Photographer?

As soon as you can! We limit the number of weddings we shoot to 25 per year and we frequently book prime dates up to a year in advance, but it never hurts to check with us regarding availability, and we do have lead photographers you may choose to work with as well.

Can You Give Us Vendor References?

We will be happy to! If you have a chance, check out our reviews on the KNOT. We have won The Best of the KNOT award for the past five years, which is pretty hard to do! Many of the popular wedding websites give awards to nearly everyone who advertises on their site, but the KNOT is strict about presenting awards to only those who have earned it. In fact, we were recently inducted into the KNOT Hall of Fame. Only 46 other photographers in the US were awarded this acknowledgement this year! We believe in great customer service, and it shows!
